WHEN ARRIVING
TO CDC ?

Caribbean Drydock Company CORP., is a center of high risk, for the work that acts in its facilities the measures of security and protection they should be carried to an extreme for each one of its workers and visitors. Read with attention that should keep in mind while it remains in CDC.

  • Your host is in charge of taking you through our Company’s areas
  • You shall park your car at the visitors’ parking area
  • Do not smoke inside offices, only in restrictive signaled areas
  • If you are authorized to access a vessel and if you must to, be informed of jobs being done at the moment you’re arriving on board.
  • Use the necessary protection means
  • Be aware of traffic signals
  • If you hear the fire alarm (two long whistles):

    – You are ought to abandon immediately the building by the nearest access, following the Security and Protection Staff indications.

    – You shall keep calm, do not run, especially on staircases and do not delay the withdrawal from the building picking up personal issues.
    -You shall address to the collecting area (the area in which busses are picking up the staff)

INFORMATION REGARDING
SECURITY AT THE YARD

Industrial Security Department is in charge of keeping highest level in security, area in which we are so proud. More than ten specialists well certified by the Cuba competitive Authority are in charge of inspecting all vessel before arriving into the yard and making the free gas certificate, document so important that without it repair job cannot be carry out on board. While in repair process the ten specialist list makes a daily briefing and the expected record of how security is being assumed while in working conditions.

The Security Industrial Department Quality Assurance System proceedings and the proper yard maintenance, organization and cleaning conditions keep up with a very low number of working accidents. This fact result in that CDC shipyard is considered a place with an adequate security level among all repair shipyards.

  • Slips, trips, falls: irrigated areas, spilled liquids, loose wires, holes
  • Working height: Equipment not suitable or wrong security, wrong position.
  • Workplace: disrupted / preparation, improper posture.
  • Health Hazards: Dirt, pollution, flammable and toxic materials.
  • Machinery: Contact misuse, poor maintenance
  • Lighting: Very bright, dim lighting, welding, laser without light.
  • Hazardous Substances: Petro-chemicals, paints, solvents.
  • Fire: Sparks, smoke, hot work, smoking, open flame.
  • Gases and vapors: Ingestion, inhalation, absorption.
  • Noise: Equipment and noisy engines in confined spaces.
  • Vehicles: Improper maintenance, poor handling,
    poor visibility.
  • Access / output: Blocked, slippery floors, exposed to
    dangers route.
  • Electricity: Cables damaged, uninsulated or
    poorly insulated, high voltage static.
  • Radiation: X-rays, X-ray sources, microwave.
  • Adverse weather conditions: Storm surge,
    , high winds, exposed positions.
  • Extreme temperatures: Hypothermia, prolonged exposure
    to sunlight / heat.
  • Handling: discomfort, heavy objects, sharp edges,
    hazardous materials.
  • Work Activities: Shot blasting, painting, welding, lifting loads.
  • Confined Spaces: Low oxygen, flammable gases,
    dangerous content, poor ventilation, poor inspection darkness.
  • Pressure Systems: insufficient maintenance, defective coatings
